The Fall

This one will be in English. It’s been a while and I’m afraid there will be a lot of mistakes (grammatically speaking).

I was thinking another day about how sometimes you’re so sleep that it is like that your sleep stoles you, its so sudden, so inevitable, unavoidable, I was thinking that in Portuguese than I realized that you guys, English speakers, say that we fall asleep. That couldn’t be more accurate, it is like falling, it is inevitable, just like when you fall. Do you know that moment where you’re falling, might be because of a misstep or whatever, and you feel your body lightly being called by the Earth and gravity, that instante before you catch yourself, someone catches, you find your balance or hit the floor (or something else), that moment is falling and there isn’t much you can do abou it. That thing that you can’t possible avoid is the fall.

I believe that’s why we fall asleep.

And the reason we fall in love. You can’t run from it, you can’t avoid it. Its so out of your control. it is a fall indeed.

And it happens to be the same name of my favorite season, Fall. It is nome the same here in the tropics, but the true fall (leaves changing and then, falling) is my favorite – oh dear season.

This reflection made me think about another one, about wonder and wander so I decided to write about it here.

Now it seems too short, and kind of a pretty bad ($h*t*e) post, but is all I got for now, how there are some things in life that happens to you and when they came they are just like a hurricane, inevitable, undeniable, impossible to defy or run from it, it catches up fast and without mercy, a relentless force, they are life’s falls: you can’t unfall in love, asleep and some (physical) falls you just can’t avoid, and life goes on . Someday you fall in love again, you wake up and sleep again, you stand up and keep walking.
